Object Name Cup, Coffee
Description This cup is from a service made for a member of the Chatfield family of England. It may have been made for Allen Chatfield and his wife Mary Osborne. They had ample connections with the East India Company through which this service could have been commissioned; Mary's father, Robert Osborne, was a captain of the East Indiaman Duke of Cumberland, and their eldest son, also named Robert, worked in the pay office of the East India Company.
