Soup plate decorated in underglaze blue and overglaze famille rose enamels with an underglaze blue nanking border at the rim; an underglaze blue honeycomb border on the sides of the well; and an impaled coat of arms in overglaze enamels in the center of the well.
The arms are of Mackay impaling Hannay, and the service from which this piece comes was probably made for the sister of Sir Samuel Hannay.
