|Object Name||Cup, Coffee|
This cup is from a service decorated with the crest of the Goodwin family, a demi-lion rampant, and the initials "D.M.G." Above the shield and crest is a merchant ship flying a close approximation of the British East India Company's flag.
The service may have been made for a member of the Goodwin family of Lexington, Massachusetts. In addition to the tea and coffee service, there is also a surviving pistol-handled urn with the same initials, crest and ship.
