Object Name Cup, Coffee
Description This crest of a salamander in flames was used by several families, including the Smyth, Douglas, and Townsend families.

Without further information it is impossible to determine for whom this cup was made. However, one strong possibility is Augustus Townshend, captain of the East Indiaman Augusta, who traveled to China in 1739, 1742, and 1745, exactly when this cup was made.
