Description This cup is decorated with the arms of Ross impaling Ross, signifying the marriage of Sir James Lockhart, 2nd Baronet (who used the Ross arms), to his cousin, Grizel Ross of Halkhead, England.

This service was one of seven Ross services made within two decades, including one of James and Grizel's son, William Ross Lockhart (see cup 2182).
