Teapot of globular form with tear-shaped knop on a domed cover; decorated in polychrome enamels and gold, with foliate scrolls on the cover, spout, and handle, separate harbor scenes within cartouches on opposite sides.
Decorated in the style of c. 1730-1740 Meissen porcelain, the teapot exhibits two closely related harbor scenes. Similar views are known on tea and coffee services by Meissen, and one or more of these possibly served as the inspiration for the scenes on the teapot shown here.
