Description This cup comes from a service made for John Rogers and his wife Mary Neal. They married in 1762, and lived in Sun Court on Cornhill in the city of London. He died in 1796

John Rogers became a director of the London Assurance Company, which was founded in 1720 and became one of the most important marine insurance companies in Britain.
