Cream jug of helmet-shaped form;decorated in famille rose enamels and gold, with a spearhead border on the rim, floral sprays flanking a central armorial with the motto PILCHRIOR EX ARDUIS on the body; lotus leaves around the pedestal; and floral sprays and band on the base.
The arms are those of Mackenzie of Coul quartering Chisholm. Sir Mackenzie, second son of Colin Cam MacKenzie ( d.1650), married Jean, daughter of Alexander Chisholm. It is not certain, however, for which Mackenzie descendant this service was made.
