Object Name Cup, Coffee
Description This cup is from a service created for Thomas Wodehouse (1747-?) and his wife, Sarah Campbell. He was the younger brother of Sir John Wodehouse who also had an armorial service (see 2358)

Thomas was a barrister. In 1782, he married Sarah, the daughter of Pryse and Sarah Campbell. She grew up at her family's estate, Stackpole Court, in Wales. As a young woman, Sarah's portrait was painted by Sir Joshua Reynolds and engraved by Valentine Green in 1772.
