|Object Name||Cup, Coffee|
This cup is part of a service made for a member of the Innes family of Balnacraig. There is no published pedigree of the family from the eighteenth century, so it is difficult to determine exactly which member commissioned this service. The motto on the coat of arms is "E labore dulcedo" and beneath it is the initials "I. (or J.) E. I. The arms were first granted to the Innes's of Blairtown around 1672-1677.
The Innes family lived at Balnacraig House, which they purchased around 1725.
