|Object Name||Cup, Coffee|
This cup is from a service made for John Henniker (1724-1803), a business man and politician. Henniker served as a member of Parliament in the 1760s and 1770s, and was on the board of directors of the London Assurance Company, a an insurance company based at the Bank Coffee House.
He was made Baron Henniker in 1800, and probably commissioned this service at that time. The color and quality of the enamel painting suggest that the arms may have been painted in England.
